Magna Motors drives charity

MAGNA Motors Dealership Limited displayed the power of charity when it handed over a brand new Hyundai Grand i10 to Angels of Love Jamaica at their Old Hope Road showroom yesterday.

“It was a pleasure, an honour, for the opportunity Angels of Love gave to Magna Motors,” Juan Vargas, managing director of Magna Motor Dealership Ltd, told the Jamaica Observer's Auto magazine.

The sentiment was echoed by Phillip Liu, chairman and founder of Angels of Love Jamaica.

“The car is a blessing which I've been asking for and it has come in this form.”

The car was the goal of Magna Motors-sponsored 'Your Miles Matter' campaign which was launched on November 11 last year. The initiative saw each mile of a Hyundai test-driven being converted into US$20, which was applied to the purchase of the vehicle.

The target was 900 miles. The campaign overshot that goal, eventually hitting 1,231 miles at its close in December 29.

The donation to Angels of Love Jamaica from Magna Motors Dealership Limited is part of Hyundai's international focus on children which, to date, has seen the company donate over US130 million towards paediatric cancer research.

According to Liu, the car will go a long way to achieve this aim.

“It will do a lot, meaning transportation in the true sense,” he said.

Liu added that the i10 will facilitate more visits to children all over the island — at their homes or in the hospital. The car will also allow the quicker purchase of medication and delivery to them as well.

This recent charity offering has been part a wave of corporate social responsibility Magna Motors Dealership Limited has been part of since the company's inception in 2015. In 2016, the Randolph Lopez School of Hope was helped by a donation made by Magna Motors Dealership Limited to the Jamaica Association of Intellectual Disabilities.

Magna Motors expands to Oxford Road

Magna Motors Dealership Limited, exclusive distributor of Hyundai in Jamaica, has announced plans to upgrade to an ultra-modern facility on Oxford Road in Kingston.

The new home of the company's pristine showroom and high-tech service centre will be seven times larger than its two current locations combined. The new facility will more than double Magna Motors' showroom and workshop space. The company will also see a six-fold increase in the parts department.

The move forms part of Magna's strategic plan to deliver premium world-class service to customers in a central location, with greater speed and efficiency.

Set to be officially opened in early 2019, the new location will occupy 2.52 acres (109,771 sq feet) and will boast a full range of services for maintenance and repair, a pre-owned department, a kids' zone, and will be outfitted with award-winning Hyundai models, top-of-the-line equipment and amenities.

“Creating a robust customer experience is at the core of our operations, and in today's world, innovation is a necessity to achieving that. Our new location will be the largest and most modern facility islandwide, built with Hyundai guidelines and standards. This new world-class facility will allow us to provide improved quality of service for our customers, with the added convenience of meeting all their needs in one location,” shared Juan Vargas, managing director, Magna Motors Dealership Limited.

Vargas added that the company recently celebrated its second anniversary, and the opening of its new location would reaffirm Magna Motors' commitment to giving Jamaicans more reasons to drive.

2018 Hyundai Tucson: Value And Comfort At A Good Price

Local Hyundai Magna Motors are not being shy about their 2018 line-up. We test drove the Tucson 2 Plus. This is a step up from the basic two-wheel drive version and comes with a good dose of creature comforts.

It is slotted at the mid-point of the Tucson Collection, since above that there is the Tucson 4-wheel drive and loads more comfort like leather interior, six airbags, and even a panoramic sunroof. Magna Motors GETS SMART

As Magna Motors Dealers Limited celebrates its second year as the local dealer for the Hyundai automotive brand it continues to share its joy with customers by adding the Hyundai Car Smart-Display package as a standard feature to several of its popular models.

“Drivers can now pay more attention to the road, enhancing their safety and those around them as it allows you to use a familiar device like your smartphone,” Carlos Geourzoung, sales manager, Magna Motors Dealership Ltd, told the Jamaica Observer's Auto magazine.

The Car Smart-Display is an infotainment system upgrade that provides an 8-inch touchscreen with improved sound fidelity, via a seven-speaker system, as a standard in the 2018 Hyundai Creta and Elantra, as well as the Tucson, excluding the base model.

It boasts voice-activated calling, Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to play both mp3 and mp4 music and video file formats. The big change is the inclusion of Apple CarPlay, which allows any iPhone 5 and up to be a part of the infotainment system. Once connected, the iPhone seamlessly integrates with the Car Smart-Display allowing users to access all the main functions. This means all the media, navigation, and voice controls are handled by the iPhone.

The major advantage is having access to all contacts and media, and most of all Apple's excellent voice assistant Siri. Through Apple CarPlay, iPhone users can accept and make calls, use navigation, and have their messages read or answered all through the vehicle's infotainment system.
